History of Fond du Lac Wilbert

Fond du Lac Wilbert Vault (formerly known as Procknow-Wilbert Vault) can trace its roots back to 1909. Fond du Lac, Wisconsin has the distinction of being the summer home of Wilbert Haase, the founder of the Wilbert brand name burial vaults

In 1938, Wilbert Haase chose Lake Winnebago in Fond du Lac as his family's summer destination.  Mr. Haase (who was a pilot) would fly between his vault business in Chicago and Fond du Lac.

All burial vaults are manufactured in our plant. Associations we belong to:

Services

Set Up

Fond du Lac Wilbert sets up 100% of all burial vaults delivered.  We use the Wilbert Way (WW) set up for all Wilbert burial vaults. The Wilbert Way set up consists of an above ground seal and a lowering device, also known as The Wilbert Way Lowering Device.

Grass

We use cemetery grass on all of our set ups. Six pieces of grass typically cover a gravesite area and will be neatly arranged under the tents. Wilbert Burial Vault manages the delivery, setup, and removal of the grass.

Tents & Chairs

A 16x14 tent is provided and set by Fond du Lac Wilbert at the gravesite for funeral services. The tent covers the burial area and provides a comfortable place for families to gather during the funeral. Chairs are also provided for families who would like a graveside service or an extra amenity at the burial site. The chairs are neatly arranged under the tent. Fond du Lac Wilbert manages the delivery, setup, and removal of the tent and chairs.

Nameplates & Emblems

Nameplates give burial vaults a personalized touch. We provide nameplates for all burial vaults Monticello through Bronze Triune at no extra charge.  The nameplate includes the name of the deceased and the birth and death dates. Fond du Lac Wilbert provides emblems at no charge on all burial vaults Monticello through Bronze Triune.  Choose from crosses, praying hands, military, roses, and other emblems.

Grave Digging & Disinterment

Please call for pricing. Note: we cannot be responsible for the disposal of vaults disinterred.

Vault Transfer

Vault Transfer is a service available between Wilbert licensees and dealers. Wilbert Burial Vault uses the vault transfer service when a burial request has been made outside of the licensee territory. The location of the cemetery is needed to determine the appropriate Wilbert licensee or dealer. Since the services offered by each Wilbert licensee vary, the licensees work together on a per burial basis to determine the services, such as tents, grass, chairs, and grave digging, that each licensee will provide for the burial.

First Responders

When a hero falls, Wilbert is there.

Our “Commemorating First Responders” program provides families of firefighters, law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel who have died in the line of duty with a tribute worthy of their valor and sacrifice.

At no charge to the family, Wilbert and our licensees donate a customized Wilbert Stainless Steel Triune® burial vault. If the choice is cremation, we offer a selection of four urns, as well as a Stainless Steel Triune urn vault for memorial tribute. If permitted, a WilbertWay® graveside service may also be included.

Join us as we help families honor heroic lives, sacrificed in valiant service to neighbor and community.
